What might be discussed in a career counselling session?
Each client has their own unique concerns, experiences and values, therefore sessions will be tailored to meet your individual needs. Typically, sessions cover some of the following:
- Your work history, skills, preferences, motivations and interests;
- Possible future opportunities you have identified;
- Exploration of other opportunities, including industries, employers, education and labour market information;
- Goal setting, conflict resolution, action planning;
- Networking, interview skills, resume development;
- Volunteer opportunities, sea change exploration, work / life balance, family considerations.
What techniques will you use to help me?
A range of Career Assessment Tools designed to assist you gain greater insight into your values, interests and skill preferences will be used. These enable your Careers Consultant to determine what methods and techniques will be most helpful for you. See our Career Management Process for more information.
Will you be able to tell me what my ideal job is?
Our goal is not to tell you what you should do but to help you to gain the tools to learn more about your skills, preferences and passions and to develop and commence implementation of your own strategic career plan. Essentially, we aim to help you find your own "Square Hole" in a work sense.

Your appointment will be with our Careers Consultant, Caitlin Burns.
Is there a contract?
No, there are no contracts to sign. The choice of how much we work together is up to you. You will be given "homework" tasks between each appointment that will help guide your sessions and because our approach is completely realistic and practical you will find your journey towards career satisfaction an immensely enjoyable one.
